Torpedo Boats - PT and BPT

A total of 808 Torpedo Boats (PT and BPT) were built by 11 boatyards.  There were three major designs: the 80-foot Elco, of which 358 were built, the 78-foot Higgins, of which 221 were built, and the 70-foot Vosper, of which 136 were built.  Displacements varied according to the armament carried, increasing as the war proceeded.  The remaining 93 included 60 Elco boats of earlier designs, 18 Huckins boats, and 11 experimental  boats.  Many of these boats were transferred either to Britain or to the USSR and large numbers were destroyed at the end of the war.  Any information about the fate of others or of any that still exist will be welcomed.
