NOAA and Other Government-Funded Research Vessels

The first section of this table attempts to list all the vessels that have served NOAA since its formation in 1970, whether active or inactive: those vessels that served the three constituent parts of NOAA prior to 1970 are listed here.  This table also lists other active (or recently deactivated) government-funded research vessels, operated by the NSF, the EPA, the USGS and by universities, both within and without the UNOLS system.
