Mathis Yachts, Camden and Gloucester City NJ

(later John Trumpy & Sons)

Most recent update: December 14, 2011.

Mathis Yacht Building Company was a spin-off from John H. Mathis Company, operating in an adjacent facility at Cooper Point in Camden, just upstream of the Ben Franklin Bridge.  It moved from Cooper Point to Gloucester City in mid-1942, where it was acquired by John Trumpy (who had been its driving force from the outset) and renamed John Trumpy & Sons.  After the war Trumpy relocated again, to Annapolis MD, where he took over the Annapolis Yacht Yard.  If anyone can add to the table below, please e-mail timcolton@aol.com.
