(later Annapolis Yacht Yard and Trumpy & Sons)
Chance Marine Construction was established in 1913 as a yacht builder and marine service center in the Eastport section of Annapolis, located on Spa Creek between Second and Third Streets, in what is still referred to in Annapolis as the Yacht Yard. It was sold in 1937, renamed the Annapolis Yacht Yard and built sub chasers and patrol craft in WWII. It was sold again in 1947, to Trumpy & Sons, who relocated there from Gloucester City NJ. (If you eat dinner in the Chart House restaurant in Annapolis, you are in Trumpy's building dock.) If anyone can provide any additional information about this shipyard, or about the boats they built, please e-mail timcolton@aol.com . See the shipyard site from the air on Google here.
