Hatteras Yachts was established in 1959, in High Point NC.  It added a second yard, in New Bern NC, in 1967 and the original yard was closed in 1997.  There are almost 4000 Hatteras boats in the U.S. register but most are relatively small, factory-assembled models: this table includes only those that are over 75 feet long, all of which were built in New Bern.  Hatteras' hull numbering system is a mystery to me: the boats in this table are listed by year of build.  Visit the yard at www.hatterasyachts.com and see it from the air on Google here.
