Spedden Shipbuilding, Baltimore MD
Most recent update: June 4, 2011.
Spedden Shipbuilding started in the early 1890s as R. M. Spedden Company. Its shipyard was in the Fells Point neighborhood of Baltimore, at 1707 Thames Street, right at the foot of South Broadway and to the east: its office address was 913 South Broadway. It was incorporated as Spedden Shipbuilding Company in 1898 and operated through World War II. After the war, it became Wills-Spedden Shipyard, Inc., and in 1950 was sold to the Chesapeake Marine Railway Company. See it from the air on Google here.
