Donjon Shipbuilding, Erie PA

Most recent update: June 13, 2011.

The Erie shipyard was built in the 1960s by Litton Industries and operated as Erie Marine, but it only ever built one and a half ships.  It is now owned by the Western Pennsylvania Port Authority, which leased it to several tenants who did little with it.  Most recently, it was leased in 2006 to Erie Shipbuilding, an affiliate of VanEnkevort Tug & Barge, which returned it to shipbuilding.  They pulled out in 2009 and the yard is now leased to Donjon Shipbuilding & Repair Company, an affiliate of Donjon Marine.  Visit the shipyard at www.donjonshipbuilding.com and see it from the air on Google here.
