The Bushey shipyard was founded before WWI and was active until sold to Amerada Hess in 1977. It was the parent company of Red Star Towing and was located on Gowanus Creek, in the Red Hook section, at the foot of Court Street: the site is now occupied by the Hess storage terminal and Hornbeck Offshore's yard.
