Trinity Industries, Madisonville LA

Equitable Equipment was founded in 1921. It shifted its operations in 1967 to the former Higgins Industries yard in New Orleans and the Madisonville yard was idle until Equitable was acquired by Trinity Industries in 1989. It was then converted to inland barge construction, in which field it is still active. The yard's earlier construction record can be found here. The Madisonville yard was retained by Trinity when the New Orleans yard was spun off as part of Halter Marine Group in 1996. Located on the Tchefuncte River, which feeds into Lake Pontchartrain, you can see it from the air on Google here.
