Nashville Bridge Co. (NABRICO), Nashville TN
(now Trinity Marine Products, Ashland City TN)
Nashville Bridge Company was originally a bridge builder, founded in the 1890s, which was converted to shipbuilding in 1915. By the 1960s, it was said to be the world's largest builder of inland barges. George Steinbrenner bought it in 1969 but sold it to Trinity Marine Group in about 1995. Trinity relocated the operation to Ashland City TN in 1996, when the City of Nashville decided that the downtown shipyard property would be more valuable to the community as a stadium. The shipyard remains active as a builder of inland barges. You could see the shipyard from the air on Google here, except that the picture is hopelessly blurred. This table is obviously incomplete. Any help in making it better would be very welcome: please send any additions and/or corrections to tim@coltoncompany.com.
