Ames Shipbuilding, Seattle WA

Most recent update: July 22, 2010.

Ames Shipbuilding Company was organized in 1917 on a site at 26th Avenue SW and SW Hanford Street, which is where the container terminal is now, just west of Harbor Island.  One of its owners was John Wilson, a Seattle boatbuilder: does anyone know anything about him, or the other owners?  If anyone can provide any more information about this shipyard, which later became Lockheed's #2 Yard, please e-mail me at timcolton@aol.com
