Todd Houston Shipbuilding Corporation, Houston TX

Todd Houston, previously Houston Shipbuilding, was one of the original nine emergency yards, with 6 ways, built by Todd and Kaiser at Irish Bend with $14mm from the USMC.  Its 6 ways were increased to 9 in the second wave of shipbuilding expansion.  At its peak, Todd Houston employed 23,000 people.  Todd subsequently bought Kaiser's interest in the management company and renamed the yard, which reverted to the Government at the end of the war and was liquidated: see the site from the air on Google here.
