J. A. Jones Construction Company, Brunswick GA

This shipyard was to have been developed by Brunswick Marine, but J. A. Jones was assigned to take over in early 1943.  It was built with 6 ways in the fifth wave of shipbuilding expansion, with $13mm invested by the USMC.  At its peak, Jones Brunswick employed 17,000 people.  After the war the shipyard was closed and the site was turned over to the community: it is now a privately operated industrial park, partly occupied by Jered Industries.  You can see it clearly from the air on Google here.
