VT Halter Marine, Inc., Pascagoula MS

VT Halter Marine is the corporate entity that in July 2002 became the parent of the six remaining Halter shipyards, after the bankruptcy of Friede Goldman Halter: it is a wholly owned subsidiary, several levels down the corporate hierarchy, of ST Engineering, a company that is publicly traded on the Singapore Stock Exchange but that is controlled by the Government of Singapore and is Singapore's largest defense contractor.  The new company sold off Halter's Gulfport, Lockport and Port Bienville shipyards, and relocated the company's headquarters from Gulfport to Pascagoula.  Visit the new company at www.vthm.com and see an aerial view on Google of the Pascagoula yard here, the Moss Point yard here and the Escatawpa (Moss Point Marine) yard here.  In the table below, the boats built in Pascagoula have a P after their hull numbers, the boats built in Moss Point an M and the boats built in Escatawpa an E.
