Keppel Offshore & Marine, Brownsville TX
(formerly Marathon LeTourneau and AMFELS)
Marathon LeTourneau's Brownsville shipyard was sold in 1985 to local interests and then in 1991 to Keppel FELS (now Keppel Offshore & Marine), which renamed it AMFELS and re-entered the rigbuilding business. It no longer has its own web site: you have to go to the parent company - www.keppelfels.com.sg - whose web site scarcely mentions AMFELS. Great marketing. Although "AMFELS" has now been dropped from the name, that's still what everyone calls it. See an aerial view of the yard on Google here. Note that LeTourneau had a single series of hull numbers regardless of where a rig was built: the list below is believed to be complete, despite the many breaks in the numbering.
