C1 Cargo Ships


The C1s were the smallest of the five sizes of oceangoing cargo ships built by the U.S. Maritime Commission in WWII: the shelter-deck C1-A, of which there were 78, was 390 feet in LBP, the full-scantling C1-B, of which there were 95, was 395 feet and the C1-M-AV1, (pronounced "seemarvy"), of which there were 239, was 320 feet.
